While more widely known for her work as an actress, singer and songwriter Alicia Witt has been performing songs since the beginning of her career on screen. The 2009 album, titled eponymous and which was released shortly after she had mostly performed as a pianist, revealed how much she owes Elton John. Revisionary History was her first studio album. It was recorded by Ben Folds. The Conduit was her next release, and it marked her debut in co-production. Alicia Witt made her first appearance onscreen as Alia Atreides, in David Lynch's adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune. She was a pianist the piano before beginning acting, is the reason she was snubbed in her beginnings as a performer. Though she appeared more on screen than she was on stage, her professional career as a musician didn't begin until 1995.
